be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NASU)
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will,

Mission
Our mission is to empower the community and its leadership by bringing awareness to the issue of domestic abuse so that through prayerful collaboration, education and intervention we end and prevent abusive behaviors.
“Don’t just stand by when your neighbor’s life is in danger. I am GOD.” Leviticus 19:16b (The Message)
“Learn to do right. Seek justice, relieve the oppressed, and correct the oppressor.
Defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.” Isaiah 1:17 (Amp)
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and
seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and
will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
“But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; The victim commits himself to you; You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.” Psalm 10:14, 17, 18 (NIV)
“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace,
so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (NASB)
Vision
Our vision is that the Christian community and its Leadership will:
-
- bring the Light of Christ on this evil in our midst so that His Light shines in the dark places
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but expose them. …
all things that are exposed are made manifest by the Light.” Ephesians 5:11, 13 (NKJV)
-
- be well educated on the issues of abuse in order to help those suffering in abusive relationships
“Where there is no counsel, the people fall;
but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14 (NIV)
-
- understand how to offer help and support to create a trustworthy sanctuary of safety for the abused.
“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion … to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” Isaiah 61:1b-3b (NIV)
-
- create a climate in which abuse is not tolerated and those who abuse are held accountable while encouraging spiritual restoration.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. Ephesians 4:30-31 (NKJV)
…so that all abuse is ended and peace and justice reign throughout His land.
“No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.” Isaiah 60:18 (NIV)
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body
you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15 (NIV)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
