    What Relationship Abuse is NOT

Relationship abuse is not an issue of anger or loss of control, it is about establishing control! One person trying to control the life of another person, and the person being victimized is often told it is for their own good, but abuse is never good. It may consist of repeated, severe beatings, but often it consists of more subtle forms of abuse, including verbal abuse, threats and controlling behaviors.
